Lost icons

We use LDAP for authentication and lost that server yesterday temporarily while I had a session active. Had to go to a command prompt and reboot as root. After the LDAP server came back online, I had a problem logging in due to KDE not being able to find my .DCOP_<hostname>__0 file. After reading on the web, I removed all in my /tmp directory to get back in. But now some of my icons are missing on Panels and Menu. Looks to be all the programs that were installed after the initial installation. The programs are still there of course, I can run them from the Run command. Is there a way to get those icons back on my menu and/or panels without manually having to do it? -- Robert
