https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=kile&project=openSUSE%3AF ac tory has the package shipped with openSUSE Factory, right now it's the KDE3 version until the KDE4 version request gets accepted. The devel project for the KDE4 version is https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=kile&project=KDE%3AKDE4%3 AF actory%3ADesktop .
I had a look at both pages. Am I right that kile-trunk-r996817.tar.bz2 is just the svn checkout without any patches?
Yes. We add patches, if any, separately to the package, we try not to modify tarballs.
One thing I noticed is that the rpm packages are still named kile-2.0.81.svn996817-1.3.src.rpm but we already raised the version to 2.0.82 (can be parsed from kileversion.h).
