More important: Did you finalised the disc when it was originally burned? Most Linux distros don't read open discs that are not finalised yet. Try it on a known working computer. A blank disk can not be mounted. Check that your device is corrected found and placed either as an IDE (/dev/hda,hdb.hdc) or under SCSI (/dev/sr0,sr1) emulation.
Inspect your dmesg messages so you know what is where.

Your lucky I am having problems burning single layer when I mount the disk nothing is found..
Its not blank something burned on it when I check that side in the light. however when I reload and try to mount and check the data nothing.
