Hi! Should I have set the Reply-to header to the list? I received several replies in private. Which should have been sent to everyone or at least to the original poster ;-) Cheers, Ingo On Thu, 12 Jan 2006 09:15:36 +0800 Joshua Raphael Fuentes <joshuarpf@gmail.com> wrote:
I think all you need is the support for mp3s. I t was removed when they had suse linux 9.3 professional and onwards.Since you are using suse 10, you will need to download some packages to get your mad plugins. Here's a guide on how to do it...

or you could also search for some other tips on how to intsall mp3 support on suse 10. You can use keywords sucfh as "mad plugins".
I hope that helps... good luck

Hello SuSE people.
Just upgraded to 10.0 from 9.2 Used to use Xmms to listen to my CDs' mp3s' etc. Couldn't load any music into it so I decided to try amarok. First I had to change the engine from helix to xine (whatever the helix engine is) Now I can load and play my mp3's wav's etc. from the hard drive.
Cannot however, make it find and play a music cd. Will it do that? or is it just me? Must have spent an hour exploring the menus without any success. Somebody put me on the right track here?
Just a guess: do you have set something like "digital signal extraction" somewhere in the preferences? IIRC most if not all linux media players don't have that enabled as default and thus require a cable between the CD drive and the soundcard. At least for xmms I had to do this on my SUSE 10.0 installation.
