Hello,
I have a serious problem:
After an upgrade from SuSE 9.0 to openSuSE 10.0 root can't log in any more in KDE!
I get the message: "Could not start kstartupconfig" and the login aborts.
Normal users don't have this problem and shell-login for root still works...
Can someone help me please?
This is just a shot in the dark, but log in as root in a console (CTRL+ALT+F1). Then rename /root/.kde to /root/.kde_old
Then switch back to X (CTRL+ALT+F7) and log in as root. KDE will be forced to recreate the .kde directory.
You will loose your KDE settings as root, but they should be easily enough to recover/redo.
If there is something missing in the new .kde directory, you can go into the .kde_old to get it back.
Hope this helps,
Alvin
Unfortunatly it didn't work! Someonelse any idea? Thanks! Ivan
