Yesterday I have upgraded to KDE 4.3.1 and since then Amarok is broken. I deleted all config files, but it remains the same. When I open main window by clicking to system tray icon, Amarok window is always small. Regardless former size. This would not be so big problem. It plays all formats, it is OK, but when I have more songs in playlist, it plays only one song, then it is looking like playing next one (I mean icons in left upper corner), but it does nothing. Progress bar is not moving, no sound. Clicking to stop / pause / another song does nothing. I have to quit Amarok completely or wait several minutes. Settings is OK - there is no 3 minute waiting between song. Actually, I have default settings... Does someone has similar experience?
you didn't mention which version of amarok you are using--amarok 1.4 or 2.2, and neither which version of openSUSE. depending on these, both versions of amarok are available (and both are working ok on my system, oS 11.2).
openSUSE 11.1, KDE 4.3.1 from Factory repo, Amarok 2.1.1
it's also important to know if you are using pulseaudio (the default), or not, and which backend if you do.
I use PulseAudio with Gstreamer as backend.
i've experienced similar problems when using the gstreamer backend for pulseaudio. i found that at this time the xine backend works better and more reliable.
It woks with Xine. Only one problem might be when I start system, I receive message that default sound device does not work, but sound works fine. :-)
if properly installed, you can select backends from the configuration settings in amarok. try to choose the xine backend and see if your problems persist.
Thank You.
