When you say other programs, what do you mean? KMail uses kprinter mechanism as does all other kde programs, so if they work, kmail should also. But if you are using or testing with say OO or Moz or some other program not using the kprinter, then your comparison is not correct.
By other programs I mean say KWrite, KSpread.
here w You say CUPS is setup to print to a remote printer, so you know your connection to the printer is ok. I would first check the settings in the kprinter window to see if it is finding or going to that printer as well, don't just assume it does. Also, you might want to update your KDE files from SuSE to bring your kmail up to a new version.
I am using Yast and YOU. These havnen't updated kde or kmail. Were your updates to KMail v1.5.3-2 SUSE released?. Thanks for the reply, steve
