file associations

      hi

to set up a workstation i need to change the file associations in kde globally 
for ALL users. i'm using SuSE 8.2 and i've found the mimetypes 
/opt/kde3/share/mimelnk but in these files the "links to the application" are 
not stored. does anybody know where these links that associate mime types and 
applications are stored such that i can change them globally in a 
SuSEconfig-compliant way? (i don't want to loose all my changes after a you 
update :-)
