Hi Guys, I've tried this the proper way, exiting via File => Quit, no tray-icon neither anymore then, but after logoff, logon => kmail is there again. Are you sure you're _quitting_ KMail? Or are you just closing its window? You'll note that since (I think) KMail version 1.7, closing the KMail main window does _not_ cause KMail to quit. You can verify this if you have the system tray icon enabled by noticing that the KMail tray icon remains present when you close the KMail main window. The window can be brought back by clicking the tray icon in that case. On the other hand, if you actually quit KMail (File -> Quit), then the tray icon will disappear and you'll have to launch KMail anew to use it.
I just ran a little experiment and confirmed the behavior I hypothesized:
1) Close all KMail windows 1a) KMail tray icon still present 2) Log out 3) Log in 3a) KMail window reappears.
Exit KMail via the menu, not the window decorations. This will really end the process, and it should not appear on startup.
