Hi, since I have updated from 8.0 to 8.1 I have a problem with kio-processes. After working a few hours I have over 150 processes out of the series: kio_file, kio_http, kio_ftp, kio_pop3, kio_imap,.... For example this is the output of su-wptnb8 /root: pstree init-+-amavis-milter---amavis-milter---amavis-milter |-apmd |-atd |-4*[automount] |-bdflush |-cardmgr |-cron |-dictd |-httpd---httpd |-inetd |-kalarm |-kalarmd |-kapmd |-21*[kdeinit] |-kdeinit---kdeinit---kdeinit---kdeinit---kdeinit---kdeinit |-2*[kdeinit---kdeinit] |-kdeinit-+-artsd | |-178*[kdeinit] | |-kdeinit---tcsh---su---tcsh---pstree | |-3*[kdeinit---tcsh] | |-kdeinit---ssh | |-kdeinit---tcsh---su---tcsh | |-kdevmon | |-ksteak | `-kwatch |-kdeinit-+-tcsh---gkrellm | |-tcsh---xemacs-+-gnuserv | | `-ispell | `-tcsh---acroread |-kdesud i.e. 178 kio-processes. In a session before I have had over 200 of them. This behaviour appeared right after the update from SuSE8.0 to SuSE8.1. I have completely removed /tmp as well as the sockets links in ~/.kde/. Of course, I have not running such as many applications. Actually, I could stop all konqueror and kmail instances, but the kio_-process remain available. Does any body know how to resolve this behaviour? Best regards, michael@karbach.org
