in earlier openSUSE and KDE releaeses it was possible to use the "protocol" audiocd in konqueror. This resulted in a presentation of the files on the audiocd and some fake directories like MP3. When I used this yesterday on openSUSE-11.4 and Konqueror-4.6.2 it shows the (wav) files, the fake directories, etc, but when I tried to copy the files the copied files have a 0 (zero) bytes size. :(
What is the reason for this, is this a known bug (I searched for it, but could not find it)? Is there a way to debug this?
I have been able to retrieve the files, via an old openSUSE version I've but it would be so nice if this functionality would be working in the openSUSE-11.4 that I have.
Seems broken for me to on stable 11.4/4.6.0 with Konq.
But with Dolphin it works - at least ripping to ogg and flac, mp3 seems to have some issue.
I tried to copy wav files from the audiocd to disk. Even this resulted in 0 byte files. Once I've a copy of the wav file, it is easy to convert...
And of course there's other cd ripping software like k3b and audex which you could try.
k3b for ripping files from a CD? I always thought it is for burning CD / DVD. I'll have a look at audex. There seems to something like cdfs as well. Perhaps I should have a look at that as well. But why the regression with the audiocd handler in konqueror and dolphin. It is a pity :( Are you aware of a bug report?
