Hello,
I almost give up. Since the update to KDE 3.1 I can not download e.g .zip files).
When klicking on a Internet link for a .zip-file download Konqueror downloads it into a temp dir and opens it in the browser.
When right klicking on the link and select "Save Link as" Konqueror does ask for where to store it and creates a file but the file has nothing to do with the original in terms of size.
When I get to a site with automatically starting downloads the Konqueror version before KDE 3.1 asked me where to store it. Now the download starts automatically in a temp dir as discribed above.
I have no clue what determines this behaviour and therefore do not know what to tweak.
Does anybodey of you have a hint?

This has been the same same way since KDE 3, as several people mentioned it on the SuSE list. A badly programmed site that immediately takes you to the download is a little more difficult to deal with and you basically have to let it download to /tmp then move & rename the file to your preferred directory, before leaving your Konq window. Once it displays the file, move it, then you can continue surfing, because if you leave the display, the file is deleted.
