I did the write worked fine as root so apparently DVD 's must be burned as root. There is also now the issue of making a dd of a C drive which is just over 4.1 gig and not being recognized as an iso when dd is how I make most of my cd copies. Perhaps there is another way to make them. I am doing this to make a perfect ghost like copy of windows cdrive. CWSIV
