How does one insert special characters into editors/apps in KDE? One of the characters I want to use frequently is Ø, a slashed zero which is frequently used in radio/tele-communication.
You might try this: enable compose key (Settings->Keyboard->Advanced) Configure keyboard options Compose key position Make your choice (I use Right Win) Apply. Now press compose key, then / and O: Ø, or compose key, then o and /: ø Same goes for â, (a and ^), ä (a and "), and so forth.. Should work, wherever X awaits some input (as this is a X option).
