[opensuse-kde3] KDE3 Desktop Image Position
I am using KDE 3.5.10 on openSUSE 12.2 from the main repository. The bug is when I change to any image position other than tiled, it looks tiled. If I use tiled, it looks like scaled/cropped (I assume). To reproduce: 1. Right click on desktop and choose Configure Desktop 2. Under background; Choose any Picture, and then below play with the options under position. If I pick centred, it looks tiled. Tiled is the only one that seems to work correctly (it looks like centered or scaled). Perhaps a bug in qt3? Also I should note I am using intel graphics card drivers with SNA. I tried disabling SNA and had the same result. Sorry to bother you with a trivial bug I only wondered if it was just me. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+owner@opensuse.org

I never encountered with such behavior. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+owner@opensuse.org
Hello again, I think I figured out this issue. The kde3 system settings module tells me it is unable to set my screen. The reason being is I have a newer version of randr. So I have been using xrandr to set my screen manually, which causes the image on the desktop to resize weirdly. Steps to reproduce: 1. Log in at smaller resolution than possible (like 800x600) 2. Set screen size large using lxrandr or xrandr such as: xrandr --output VGA1 --mode 1280x1024 3. The desktop should look tiled instead of scale/crop. To fix all I need to do is reset kdesktop. So I just run from alt+f2: killall kdesktop && kdesktop I have the xrandr to set my screen in a script in .kde/autostart. Is there a way I work in this to my script? I can kill kdesktop fine but it does not seem to want to start through the script. Sorry to bother folk with this really trival issue. (It is not a bug at all, as I have seen xrandr weirdness on more modern desktops too).
