On a recent 13.1 installation I did as often in the past, added several .desktop files to /usr/local/share/applications/ that work just fine for other 13.1/KDE3 installations, but this one is ignoring them. This kind of menu updating thing is something that used to be fixable just by running SuSEconfig. Now that it no longer exists, how does one troubleshoot such a menu failure?
