[opensuse-kde3] From Oss_10.3 to Oss_12.2
Hello all, I'm currently using OpenSuse 11.1 + KDE3 relatively recently installed through a CD. This is because nothing worked after Oss 10.3. Now I know I was not alone and tens of thousands of workstations have migrated from OpenSuse+KDE3 to Ubuntu+Trinity. As I would like to continue using OpenSuse, I tried again to install 12.1, but it did not work long: I can not use my 1280x1024 screen other than in 1024x768 mode (RV350AP [Radeon9600]). I did not insist because the release of version 12.2 was close. What do you recommend for proper installation of Oss12.2 + KDE3: - XFE install followed by a use of "1-click install" button, in page http://en.opensuse.org/KDE3? - Is it possible to do that from a console, without graphical browser? I'm currently downloading the openSUSE-12.2-DVD-x86_64.iso. Would'nt a Live CD be sufficient (as in the case of the 11.1 that I'm currently using)? I'm sorry about that, but I was traumatized by KDE4. This makes me wonder if a guarantee of perenity for me could be to download all the source files of the project KDE3/QT. Could you tell me if this is realistic and how to do it please? thank you Patrick -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+owner@opensuse.org

One way, apart from the 1-click, to install into a new partition is laid out here: http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/how-faq-forums/un... -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+owner@opensuse.org
