[opensuse-kde3] KMail - added NetworkManager support
Hi again, I added NetworkManager support to KMail. This patch will put KMail in offline/online mode, according to current NetworkManager state. As a side effect, KMail will be switched automatically to offline when you will suspend the machine, and to online after resume. https://github.com/serghei/kde3-kdepim/commit/0577b2e0087d6350a099778300ec39... -- Serghei -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+owner@opensuse.org

Many users og openSUSE do not use Network Manager because the network can be configured via Yast. Will this patch work correctly when not using NM? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+owner@opensuse.org

Of course, KMail will work normally if NM is not installed. -- Serghei -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+owner@opensuse.org

What if NM installed but not used? One can switch between NM and ifup mechanisms in Yes with one checkbox. Will not Kmail go off-line if it detects that NM is installed but not running? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+owner@opensuse.org

My patch just is watching NM state changes. If NM is not running, no state changes are detected, so nothing happens to kmail. Maybe sometime I will implement a KDED service which will ping the gateway and will expose the status of network via DCOP. -- Serghei -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+owner@opensuse.org

What is the control is switched from NM ti ifup on fly via Yast? Will kmail go off-line? Will it be recoverable? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+owner@opensuse.org
