[opensuse-kde3] Console font's missing characters...
Hi world, All is well in Leap 42.1 + KDE3. Except that following an update of "optionals", it was impossible to reboot. I dropped, forgetting developers and bug report, and have restored the system. I just have a problem with the console. It is utf8: $ Echo $ LC_CTYPE fr_US.UTF-8 but there are characters that did not make problem with Oss 13.2, as "♣" and "Σ", and are now represented as "" in the console (But not in an X terminal, of course). As I guess it's because these characters are simply not defined in the current font, I would like to recover the font used in Oss13.2 where they were OK. I had the folly to use them in file names... Could someone tell me the procedure, please? Do you mean the virtual consoles (reached from KDE3 via Ctrl-Alt-Fn)? Or to you mean Konsole? Or does console mean something else to you? If you mean Konsole, you can configure it to use a specific monospace font instead of the default monospace, as follows from Konsole's own menu: settings -> font -> select -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." Thank you Felix, Speaking of "console", I was talkling of this virtual terminals reached by the shortcut "Ctrl-Alt-Fx". I dont have problem with the "graphical teminals", like Konsol, XTerm, etc...
