[opensuse-kde3] Is there a kde3 repository that will work with 11.0

Ilya, Robert, all, Does anyone have a repository that would work better for updating kde3 on 11.0 than the sle-11 repo? -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. http://ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/discontinued/update/11.0/rpm/ doesn't work? -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." Thanks Felix, It works. What I was looking for were any newer packages (if they exists) that will work with the new cups, etc.. So far the sle-11 packages have worked great even though sle-11 is built against 11.1. What I keep looking at are the security issues with packages like cups, etc. that when updated cause 11.0 kde to begin failing. That's what I'm hoping to avoid. (can't move to 11.1+ or I lose the fglrx driver) -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. What why would that happen? What video card/chip needs what 11.0 has that 11.1+ doesn't? -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." Radeon x1250 in the laptop. The 8-9 driver is the last working fglrx driver for the x1250. Video performance with the radeon/radeonhd drivers is less than 1/3 what the fglrx performance is and laptop heat skyrockets without the downclocking provided by fglrx... The 9-3 driver (last legacy driver -- available with 11.5) provides only 50% of the performance of the 8-9 driver. Should just get another laptop, but it seems like a waste to toss a 64-bit, 17", 4G, 640G laptop.... -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. Have you tried installing the fglrx driver with later distributions? How does it fail? Pete -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+help@opensuse.org
