15.4 bmp images - no preview in konqueror, no display in kview, etc...
All, I may just have mixed up libraries on 15.4, but currently it will not display a simple uncompressed .bmp file in konqueror preview or in kview or any other kde dependent image viewer. Other image viewers are like gpicview are fine. I don't recall this ever being a problem before, but maybe from the ancient days I loaded another packman library? Please confirm and reply... -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.

There is a way to find out if you have ancient rpm installed. Run this concoction (the one appropriate for you): rpm -q -a --queryformat "%{INSTALLTIME}\t%{INSTALLTIME:day} \ %{BUILDTIME:day} %-30{NAME}\t%15{VERSION}-%-7{RELEASE}\t%{arch} \ %25{VENDOR}%25{PACKAGER} == %{DISTRIBUTION} %{DISTTAG}\n" \ | sort | cut --fields="2-" | tee rpmlist \ | egrep -v "openSUSE Leap 15\.3|openSUSE_Leap_15.3|\-lp153|SUSE Linux Enterprise 15" | less -S (not containing 15.3) rpm -q -a --queryformat "%{INSTALLTIME}\t%{INSTALLTIME:day} \ %{BUILDTIME:day} %-30{NAME}\t%15{VERSION}-%-7{RELEASE}\t%{arch} \ %25{VENDOR}%25{PACKAGER} == %{DISTRIBUTION} %{DISTTAG}\n" \ | sort | cut --fields="2-" | tee rpmlist \ | egrep -v "openSUSE Leap 15\.4|openSUSE_Leap_15.4|\-lp154|SUSE Linux Enterprise 15" | less -S (not containing 15.4) rpm -q -a --queryformat "%{INSTALLTIME}\t%{INSTALLTIME:day} \ %{BUILDTIME:day} %-30{NAME}\t%15{VERSION}-%-7{RELEASE}\t%{arch} \ %25{VENDOR}%25{PACKAGER} == %{DISTRIBUTION} %{DISTTAG}\n" \ | sort | cut --fields="2-" | tee rpmlist \ | egrep -v "openSUSE Leap 15\.5|openSUSE_Leap_15.5|\-lp155|SUSE Linux Enterprise 15|openSUSE\ Leap\ 15.5" | less -S (not containing 15.5) It will list all the rpms you have installed, sorted by installation date-time, and filtering out everything that was installed for 15.4. A bunch of the results will be ok, like gpg keys for the install. If the filter do not catch someone, just add the proper string to the filter, and tell me back ;-) If you want a concoction to import into a calc sheet, use this one: rpm -q -a --queryformat "%{INSTALLTIME};%{INSTALLTIME:day}; \ %{BUILDTIME:day}; %{NAME};%{VERSION}-%-7{RELEASE};%{arch}; \ %{VENDOR};%{PACKAGER};%{DISTRIBUTION};%{DISTTAG}\n" \ | sort | cut --fields="2-" --delimiter=\; \ | tee rpmlist.csv | less -S - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
