Mystery Tumbleweed - kmix volume goes to 75% magically sometime after kde3 startup?

All, Here is another tumbleweed issue I'm trying to track down. The volume with kmix is set to 61%. That's where I set it, and that's where it is set on desktop start. However, after opening konsole, kate, konqueror, firefox, thunderbird, kweather and usually kpatience (patience card game - time killer), at some point, the volume magically jumps to 75% ??? Has anyone else seen there volume magically adjust to 75%? I haven't isolated which app does it. Whenever it happens, I don't know about it until the next sound is played -- usually the konsole error telling me I hit backspace one too many times. Thought I would ask... -- David C.
