Hello Chris, Thank you for the response. Writing "$ wall --version↵" : wall de util-linux 2.25.1 Checking from tty1 as root, writing 'echo "coucou" | wall↵' the message appears on the tty1 (root) and tty2, my user being logged on it, but nothing belong X-KDE3, my user being logged-on, with a console (konsole) beeing open. So, it seems to be an X or KDE3 problem. I think that I found : a utility is missing : kwrited5 - Daemon listening for wall and write messages but seeing the amount of packages requested by dependentcy, I prefer to forget, continuing to use my "relatively" stable system "as is". What error did you get when you tried to use wall?
It's not usually expected that this wil be missing. It's part of the util-linux package so you could always check that this is installed.
Hope this helps.

Hello World,
I did use successfully the "wall" commande, but it does not work now (or did I forget all ?) on my Oss13.2 + KDE3. I would like a shell script executed as root to use "wall".
Could some one help me, please ?
Thank you, Patrick
