Is there anything like a minimalist pattern for installing KDE3 as the default WM? Presumably the 1-click on http://en.opensuse.org/KDE3 is not minimalist. zypper se attern | grep kde produces nothing with a 3 in it.
Install only kdebase3-session. That will be minimalist.
I did a minimal X install and set solver.onlyRequires=yes in zypp.conf, then installed as little of KDE3, including kdebase3-kdm, as I could figure out to get them to start. I have yast2-control-center-qt3 installed, but opening YaST2 from the starter starts ncurses YaST. If I try to install yast2-qt, zypper wants to install a bunch of qt4 stuff. Is this necessary/normal?
Zypper only has qt4, ncurses and GTK3 anterfaces. There is a package with the zypper main menu in qt3 but the modules anyway in qt4. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde3+owner@opensuse.org
