I just tried to try Digikam, but it's fighting back hard: #1 I can't find a way to configure all caption text to be legible, meaning at least as large as UI text. To get the filename size to where this screenshot shows required about a dozen zoom-up levels, which changes the thumbnail size, not what I wanted: http://fm.no-ip.com/SS/Tmp/digikam3picker012.jpg #2 I can't find a way to escape the /home filesystem tree - there's no visible up icon like in Konq, and no file open menu item allowing to navigate to wherever an image happens to be, e.g on network. I tried setting the startup location to /, and it crashes instead of opening, with what looks like a write permission failure. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
