take a look at:
and there it is.
I didn't think
sed -i 's/15.3/15.4/g' /etc/zypp/repos.d/*repo
would fail me, but I didn't think about names being changed. Old URIs:
baseurl=http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE3/openSUSE_Leap_15.3/ gpgkey=http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE3/openSUSE_Leap_15.3/repod...
Thanks Uwe!
I installed the 4/27 Beta of 15.4, minimal X install and then installed KDE3 on top. There is one package, (I think it is kde3-uitlities-extra) that still depends on libpython.2.7.1-0. I installed it and just said break dependencies knowing I could find the lib later, Sure enough: https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/devel:/languages:/python:/Factory... I've just got the system loaded and KDE3 running (but not tweaked and setup the way I like yet). There were no surprises during install. I do get the xdm chooser instead of kdm, but I haven't been through the sysconfig editor yet, just did an update-alternatives on the display manager which usually doesn't work on the first logout/reboot from IceWM. The lack of libqt4-xxx does cause problems with individual packages I build, but I've managed to find that to in a couple of build service repositories. The 15.4 polkit settings have changed so I get the password on reboot/shutdown. In the past it was set to "easy local" (which translated to display_manager_shutdown = all), but evidently that is no longer the case. Good job opensuse devs! Looks like KDE3 is in good shape for 15.4. I'll have more time next week to go though it. -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.
