Exit FF and delete *.mfasl from your FF profile directory and try again. If that doesn't do it, try switching off tabs on top in the view menu. If you'd rather FF to look more like it did in v3.x, you might wish to try the extension status-4-evar, which also may make your problem go away. I didn't see any files with that in the mozilla folder in my home directory. I have it pretty much set to clear everything when it closes tho....and I use NoScript, Flashblock, and oldbar.
SaX3 is in the works for 12.1. Most people won't need it, but when you do you do.
It seems that sometimes devs think that if it works for 90% of the people, then it's good to go. When it comes to screen setup, Linux has it's issues. Everything else worked fine out of the box.
