Hi danny, I am not aware of any jdk7 for openSUSE atm, but it's already in my plan, so hopefully this wekk there will be at least sun jdk7 in Java:sun:Factory - I will announce it here. Dear all, I would like to know the status of openjdk 7 packages? Michal? I'm quite keen to get my java packages build against java 7 and see what breaks and how they run with java 7 Denny Am Donnerstag, 4. August 2011, 13:20:22 schrieb Michal Vyskocil:

The status is not nice atm - I have Java:openjdk6:Factory/java-1.7.0-openjdk [1], but for unknown reason it fails on filelist of some subpackages for unknown reason. I spent several hours to be able fix that, but did not yet succeeded. So the short term plan is just include all files into main package, rename it to java-1_7_0-openjdk to have a consistent naming across SUSE and announce it here. On the other hand I will probably not push it yet to the Factory because of those issues. You can remove the following lines from java-1.7.0-openjdk.spec to fix current error in the build: %doc AUTHORS %doc COPYING %doc ChangeLog %doc NEWS %doc README But then you will get the following errors (I've tried to build it locally for openSUSE 11.4): I: Program is likely to break with new gcc. Try -fno-strict-aliasing.
