SuSE 8.1, AVM Fritz PCI 2.0, Dial-in, 2B
Hello, I'm trying to configure: SuSE 8.1 Professional as a server with minimal up-to-date installation ( i4l , ppp extra added ) on Celleron 1.7, 256 MB RAM, 80GB HD, 2 RTL NICs, 1 AVM Fritz PCI 2.0 ISDN so that Im able to simple dial-in over the ISDN with multilink (both channels =128k) from a Windows 2000 Pro. client PCs. I get only one channel connected when I try multilink. I also tried to dial from two different client PCs simultaneously with 1B and it works (this means both client PCs are connected on the SuSE server simultaneously , each with 1B, on the server both channels are in use so Id say they are ok). I use CAPI driver. Both client PCs and the server are hanging on the same TK device(T-octopus 180i) during this testing. Server should be running in Intranet with no Internet connection. So ISDN is the only way I can get to it from the outside. I need this connection to be able to make updates and have access to some Web app. that will be running on the server (2B is preferable). This is my first SuSE Installation ever and I havent been into the Linux world since 1998 so please excuse me if some of mine descriptions are not so thorough as they should be. Ive been trying to contact SuSE for support but this topic seams to be out of basic support domain. I can provide you with additional log and conf files if you need them. Sorry for not writing in German. Feel free to reply me in German though. Regards, Vlado __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! What did you setup ? ipppd or pppd via capiplugin ? for ipppd to dial the second channel you need to use isdnctrl addlink ippp0 to shutdown the second channel you need isdnctrl removelink ippp0 -- Karsten Keil SuSE Labs ISDN development
