Hallo! Sorry to post this message in English (feel free to reply in German). We have configured a ISDN dialin server on Suse7.0, but we have sometimes problems reaching the local network attached to this server. These cases can be easily recognized on this server by checking the ARP table: an ARP entry is missing for the IP address corresponding to the clients IP address (normally it displays something like "host.network.domain (193.192.191.190) at * PERM PUP on eth0.") Relevant(?) information: - The client is on the same subnet as the interface to the network (man ipppd, section routing) - PAP is used, the 4th column is the IP address (usefirstip option is set) - proxyarp option is set - netmask option is 255.255.255.255 - dialin using PPP works fine (except that there are some left-overs like "host.network.domain (193.192.191.190) incomplete on eth0.") I have been thinking, could it be the case that there is a timing problem with adding a route to the dialin-client and adding the ARP entry? Any ideas? Thank you, Mark Scheffer.
