I hope noone minds my English contribution :-) , but here's a post to a debian list that might shed light on what is going on: <http://lists.debian.org/debian-user/2003/debian-user-200307/msg04060.html> This message tells us: "The Problem is that hisax could not find my card. The card is PCI from Teles and "lspci" say that: "Tiger Jet Network Inc. Intel 537""
Oder ist dieses Ding (ich kenn's nicht) irgendwie bauglich zu AVM?
So there you have it: it's baugleich zu a (passive) Teles PCI card.
Nun möchte ich aber gern auf capi umstellen, weiss aber nicht was für diese Karte in der capi.conf eingetragen werden muss...
Conclusion: no capi, no capisuite and no Telefonbeantworter or anything else CAPI is likely to be available for this hisax-driven card, sadly. Unless some free alernative to DriverLoader gains support for CAPI drivers for Windows, so you could at least install them yourself. Jeroen Roovers

O, and here's the listing on <pciids>: <http://pciids.sourceforge.net/iii/?i=e159> for what it's worth. Jeroen Roovers

Well, no problem. This should be a dual-language list as far as I understood it :-))

Well, just to complete and correct this a little bit: there will be CAPI support available for nearly all cards currently supported by HiSax; it's currently implemented and will hopefully work soon in the Linux 2.6 series. AFAIK, it's not expected to work in 2.6.0, but hopefully it will be ready for one of the next minor releases. By the way: the project which is a successor of HiSax is called mISDN. By the way2: mISDN won't include any open source fax protocol implementation; so cards which can't be used for faxing now also won't be able to do it in Linux 2.6. So you'll only be able to use the voice functions of CapiSuite with mISDN. Well, all this doesn't help us at the moment - just for the sake of completeness... But if you need an answering machine now, you could try vbox - this works with the "old" HiSax/I4L drivers. - -- Ciao, Gernot -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE/6LRck997/GGeSeIRAprMAJwKI0yNEcJBthnWowEicHcmemsdxACfbrhv uH1MqaK0B94fJ2EpQF9pmX8= =jBFq -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
