Ich nutze SuSE 8.1 mit einer FritzCARD und habe beim Durchlauf von Faxsetup die Meldung:
.... Warning: /share/fonts does not exist or is not a directory!
The directory /share/fonts does not exist or this file is not a directory. This is the directory where the HylaFAX client applications expect to locate font metric information to use in formatting ASCII text for submission as facsimile. Without this information HylaFAX may generate illegible facsimile from ASCII text. ....

Wie stelle ich das ab ?? Bzw. welches Paket muss zusätzlich installiert sein ??

Die Pakete waren bzw. sind installiert !
"rpm -qa | grep ghostscript" gibt aus:
ghostscript-fonts-other-7.05.3-41 ghostscript-fonts-std-7.05.3-41 ghostscript-library-7.05.3-41 ghostscript-x11-7.05.3-41
Auch die Angaben in /usr/lib/fax/hyla.conf stimmen mit dem search path (Ausgabe bei gs -h) überein...

Hallo,
habe genau das gleiche Problem mit Suse 8.1! Neueste Version der beiden benötigten ghostscript Pakete installiert, aktuelle Hylafax-Patches vom Update Server und trotzdem bringt faxsetup diese Meldung das /share/fonts nicht existiert (was es auch nicht tut). Ist diese Warnung nun bedenklich oder nicht? Ein kurzer Test hat ergeben, das mein Hylafax Faxe empfangen und mit sendfax senden kann, wass ja aber noch nichts heissen muss (bin mit den Abläufen bei Hylafax noch nicht ganz so vertraut, aber vermute das gs gar nicht gebraucht wird wenn ich mit sendfax direkt ein tiff sende).
tja, würde mich auf jeden Fall freuen falls mir/uns hier einer weiter helfen könnte un das Thema nich im Sande verlaufen würde!

Hmm faxsetup ermittelt den pfad durch auswerten der Ausgabe von:
/usr/bin/gs -h
Dort steht bei mir am Ende: ... hpdj660c hpdj670c hpdj680c hpdj690c hpdj850c hpdj855c hpdj870c hpdj890c hpdj1120c hpdj stp nullpage Search path: . : /usr/share/ghostscript/7.05/lib : /usr/share/ghostscript/fonts For more information, see /usr/share/ghostscript/7.05/doc/Use.htm. Report bugs to bug-gs@ghostscript.com, using the form in Bug-form.htm.
Genau dieser Search path: wird dann ausgewertet und uebernommen (ohne . und Leerzeichen)
