SLES 7 IA64-RC1 doesn't see "suitable hard drives" for install
When I try to install SLES 7 RC1 on a Compaq Blazer with its built-in drives, it claims that there aren't any suitable hard drives to install on. I tried manual mode and loading the drivers manually, but I get the same result. Going back to my trusty-old Beta 1 CDs makes it see my disks fine. I haven't tried Beta 2. Any ideas? Is this a cpqarray driver issue? Thanks. -nev -- _______________________________________________________________________ Nevin Cheung nevman@sendmail.com Sendmail Senior Technical Consultant

Could be the same bug that just surfaced in the i386 SLES edition? Problem was the same, install system (manual and yast2 autoinstall) says no disks, but on the console (ALT+F2) I could see them fine. Someone said that it looks like a Compaq cpqarray driver update has change the format of the /proc file, and that that's the problem. They're working on it. Actually, for i386 I just got a new release from development so for me it's fine now ;-) Michael

Yes, very likely, as the ia64 kernel has the same version of the cpqarray driver. Will be fixed in RC2. Andreas. -- Andreas Schwab "And now for something SuSE Labs completely different."
