Another suggestion: how about to send /notify messages instead of normal ones?
Main reason is that they are shown in a different way on the IRC clients (so
they don't get mixed with normal messages), and we can do other cool stuff in
the future like sending the last 5 /notify messages when specific people join
the channel.

Fine with me. I would change it directly, but I am currently unable to log in to the monitoring server. So this has to wait until you fixed the services after your IP move. Lars
