[heroes] Xorg.0.log attached as type text/x-log
Is there a way for my account to be given permission to change these plain text attachments to text/plain? When I click the details link, instead of being able to edit, the browser suggests I open in Notepad, which AFAIK does not exist on Linux. e.g. https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=804198 -- Evolution as taught in public schools is religion, not science. Which bug? This is a bugzilla question, not permission question. When you upload an attachment, you can select mime type, which includes text/plain. And as with rest of bugzilla we have, you can't really edit things, just replace them. You can replace attachment with new one. Regarding "Notepad", I think that depends on what you selected on your OS. Different users will have different settings for different mime types. The linked attachment asks for "Text Editor (default)" - gedit for me. - Adam -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: heroes+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: heroes+owner@opensuse.org

More specifically, it's a bugzilla triager question. I anticipated that if I had posted the bug number instead of the attachment number the reader may not have noticed I wasn't the one who used the wrong content type, thus getting the idea that I was asking as a reporter/attacher. https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1133171

I don't attach logs as text/x-log. When I can remember, I ask reporters to attach logs as text/plain, but they commonly do not do it, and I don't have material power to fix it, only to ask reporter to try again, or waste time asking someone else to do what I could do in seconds.

Somebody fixes them sometimes. I want to be one of those somebodies, as I used to be (and might still have the power to be) on bugzilla.mozilla.org.

BZ should be smart enough to default to text/plain instead of text/x-log when the upload selected is in fact text/plain. Non-regular BZ users commonly don't seem to know they should be selecting the appropriate type. When I wish to examine an attachment, I typically need it to be in an adjacent tab. That's (currently) not possible with text/x-log attachments without a bunch of extra steps per attachment. -- Evolution as taught in public schools is religion, not science. Team OS/2 ** Reg. Ok, I fixed that in Bugzilla. I clicked on Details of attachment, and then "edit details" link and changed the MIME Type to text/plain from text/x-log. The permissions I have is "editbugs" in Bugzilla, not admin permissions. I agree that autodetection should be fixed to prefer text/plain, but we can't really fix bugzilla. - Adam -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: heroes+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: heroes+owner@opensuse.org

I saw that in bugmail. Thanks

I have editbugs authority on bugzilla.mozilla.org. How can I get it for bugzilla.opensuse.org? How did you get it?
