[heroes] download.opensuse.org timing out tonight
Hi heroes, The repos are timing out constantly for me tonight, making it difficult and unreliable to use zypper, doing upgrades or doing distro upgrades online. I just created a bug report: https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1138761 Thought I should let you know in case someone has time to check if it's mirrorbrain or some mirrors that aren't working like they should. Good luck finding the cause! darix and me are still working on the mirrordbs. We upgraded and rebooted and are facing issues with mod_asn and a monstrous load (~1800). Still working on it, ... Best regards, Karol Babioch

Great, good luck!
we concluded our work for today. The root cause is related to mod_asn, which puts a high load on the database by looking up ASN and PFX information. We re-configured it somewhat to use the GeoIP information, which restrained the database a lot. We will have to revisit this once more next week, but this should be good enough for now. Best regards, Karol Babioch
