[heroes] hermes.opensuse.org state
Hi all, between running around the office, i somehow managed it to talk to Klaas Freitag for about half an hour. For general he would be willing to help to fix issues but is not into "maintaining" the service hermes.opensuse.org Furthermore - he has no problems if we shutdown the service - as he sees that Hermes may not have become the solution he meant it to be. TL;DR; if nobody from openSUSE Heroes teams starts caring about Hermes, we are free to shut it down at any time (from the former maintainers view) Talking to darix about that topic today, we may have a few showstoppers here from shutting it down directly, without excuses. But we should start a process now to find out which are the "blocking elements" on shutting down Hermes and find a solution for each of those one-by-one. My opinion is then: announce that in 6 months (time frame debatable) we are stopping this service due to lack of maintenance (unless a new maintainer steps up), meanwhile fix your apps that depend on it. -- Theo Chatzimichos <tampakrap@opensuse.org> <tchatzimichos@suse.com> System Administrator SUSE Operations and Services Team
