We do everything to do with the openSUSE infrastructure, mostly in Nürnberg, but the openSUSE forums are run out of Provo in the US. Actually, Gertjan, do you guys use progress.o.o for ticketing? -- Per Jessen, Zürich (22.7°C) Member, openSUSE Heroes -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: heroes+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: heroes+owner@opensuse.org

Nope, we have Kim Groneman of MF-IT who does the underlaying stuff for both suse and openSUSE forums. We ping him through the (hidden) mod area, which he is subscribed to. Most issues are fixed quickly, and AFAIK Kim doesn't look at progress.o.o . Guess that some day this part will be moved/changed to our own infra, but not right now. But so far the communication with Kim works fine. -- Gertjan Lettink a.k.a. I though the hereos were the administative fixers of things web. If you're logged in, then go to "Settings" on the top right, options will show up on the left re. editing your profile.

Why does that "Customize My Profile" link in that OP aboutme page exist? The only sensible reason I can think of for its existence, if it's going to be there at all, would be to link to where edits are possible, such as: https://forums.opensuse.org/profile.php?do=editprofile IMO, "My Profile" and "Settings" in a forum both suggest the same destination. -- "Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. IMO, "My Profile" and "Settings" in a forum both suggest the same destination. If you want the final answer to your questions, you'd have to consult the Vbulletin forums/devs, or contact MF-IT. Those are the two options. The things you're mentioning now, have been like this for at least five years. If "Why" questions are valid in the ICT world, then mine is: "Why come up with this now? ".

IMO, "My Profile" and "Settings" in a forum both suggest the same destination. And, BTW, Felix, you have a forums account, why post here and not use the 'Admin" link on the front page of the forums.

If you're referring to https://forums.opensuse.org/forum.php, the only instance of the string "admin" found by browser find in page is "Sub-Forums: Installation/Administration" under Hilfe und Helfen under Deutsch. What "Admin" link? Preferring posting mailing lists over forums because the web generally is a hostile usability abomination: tiny and/or gray text, low contrast link colors, hidden links, annoying scripts, popups, blocking overlays, unfathomable "responsive" design, busy-ness/crowding/ads making destinations/sought items hard to find, idiotic and/or obfuscatory backgrounds, useless tiny images/icons, absent breadcrumbs, motion, unresponsive bloat, etc. e.g. http://fm.no-ip.com/SS/Suse/osForum201806-1200-120.gif -- "Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom.
