We don't serve these via mirrorbrain, so are these hashes actually needed? Just wondering out loud. The current metalink job has been running for nearly two days now. (maybe not so unusual given the server load). -- Per Jessen, Zürich (24.9°C) Member, openSUSE Heroes -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: heroes+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: heroes+owner@opensuse.org

I think they are mostly used by tumbleweed-cli for remaining on a previous stable snapshot a bit longer - or even reverting packages to it. That allows bisecting what/when introduced an issue. So it will mostly be zypper doing the access via libcurl. For openSUSE reproducible builds I recently found another use case: to verify that a build result is correct, I needed older libs and tools than what is current in Factory. But that does not pull from the /history tree anymore, but just takes a regular snapshot of /tumbleweed now. https://lizards.opensuse.org/2019/04/03/experimental-opensuse-mirror-via-ipf... -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: heroes+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: heroes+owner@opensuse.org

Are you sure? E.g. http://download.opensuse.org/history/20190509/tumbleweed/repo/oss/x86_64/3om... exists, and the listed mirrors do have the files (those I checked at least). Thanks - no, I waan't sure :-) Okay - although there are not many mirrors, we clearly need the hashes. Hmm, maybe the generation will finish by Friday :-) -- Per Jessen, Zürich (28.0°C) Member, openSUSE Heroes -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: heroes+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: heroes+owner@opensuse.org
