[heroes] reminder: IRC / real life Heroes meeting
Hello, the next Heroes meeting is scheduled for sunday (Feb 5) at 15:00 CET (that's 14:00 UTC). Those who visit FOSDEM will probably meet somewhere[tm], and the poor guys who had to stay at home can join over IRC ;-) BTW: Google released the "Site Reliability Engeneering" book that describes how Google runs its systems for online reading at https://landing.google.com/sre/book.html I didn't have time to look at it yet (except the TOC, which looks promising), so if someone is faster in reading it, please give a short summary if it's worth reading ;-) Regards, Christian Boltz -- Es ist im Moment recht ruhig, ja. To unsubscribe, e-mail: heroes+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: heroes+owner@opensuse.org

I'll be at FOSDEM, but unable to attend. Should we just delay the meeting? I'm not asking for me, I don't consider myself important [1], I just guess there is a lot of people at FOSDEM. Best regards, Christoph [1] I'm not a hero like you, the awesome people who run the openSUSE infrastructure. I'm not even sure I could become a hero. Sure, I have been involved in other communities and running critical infrastructure elsewhere, but I'm afraid I'm too busy to really take over responsibility. Nevertheless I'd like to help with the wiki and follow the latest developments of it's infrastructure, that's why I would like to be in the loop. -- Christoph Wickert <cwickert@suse.de> Technical Writer SUSE Linux GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, D-90409 Nürnberg Tel: +49-911-74053-0; Fax: +49-911-7417755; https://www.suse.com/ SUSE Linux GmbH, GF: Felix Imendörffer, Jane Smithard, Graham Norton, HRB 21284 (AG Nürnberg)
"A lot of people" is a good reason for doing it there. We can ask Richard and other Board Members if needed. You need a lot of mails, if you want to have changes in the infrastructure, or you take such peoople to a face-to-face meeting. ;-) Best regards, Sarah Gesendet: Freitag, 03. The people at FOSDEM have probably already heard about it, but in case we missed to tell someone: We'll meet at the ownCloud booth - they have a separate internet access that works better than the slightly overloaded ;-) FOSDEM wlan. If someone who is not (yet?) part of the heroes team wants to join - you are more than welcome ;-) Regards, Christian Boltz -- Lass es mich so ausdrücken, Du hast einem mutmaßlichen Anfänger auf die Frage "Wie lasse ich ein Auto an?", mit einer Erklärung wie er die Zündung kurzschließt geantwortet :-) [Ralf Corsepius in suse-programming] -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: heroes+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: heroes+owner@opensuse.org
