[heroes] https://monitor.opensuse.org/icinga/ => please check your machines
Hi @ll As the offered openSUSE services had some outages during the last weeks, and there is another big issue in front of us[1], I decided to go with manual configuration of our new monitoring system for now. I'm just to silly at the moment to "saltify" everything from the beginning. So here it is: https://monitor.opensuse.org/icinga/ is monitoring 33 hosts now with 594 services. Please create new issues in Category "monitoring" if: a) you miss important checks b) want to get access to your machine All important details should be mentioned at: https://progress.opensuse.org/projects/opensuse-admin-wiki/wiki/Monitoring With kind regards, Lars PS: so far we have already 20 critical and 4 warning states for services (96.3% health)... -- [1]: Planned power outage in Nuremberg from 2017-10-13 until 2017-10-15 [2]: https://progress.opensuse.org/projects/opensuse-admin/issues/new -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: heroes+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: heroes+owner@opensuse.org

Hi Lars When I access that URL, I'm prompted for userid and password? -- Per Jessen, Zürich (10.6°C) openSUSE mailing list admin -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: heroes+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: heroes+owner@opensuse.org

That's correct: you either need your freeIPA credentials (which currently might result in "less hosts" as you need to tell me what you want to see) or with the guest account (as described here: https://progress.opensuse.org/projects/opensuse-admin-wiki/wiki/Monitoring ). In general: if someone needs an introduction into Icinga or has questions around monitoring, feel free to contact me. Don't worry: they will come for sure :-) Question for everybody: while I could auto-generate the contact information from freeIPA, I've currently no central store for a host(group) <=> contact(group) matching. Any ideas? Action item for everybody: tell me your preferred notifications. At the moment, you get a mail once a day for every broken service in any state that you are subscribed to. This can of course be fine tuned. Question 2: should I sent notifications also to our IRC channel? Is there also a notification at the time a service breaks? Once a day is fine as a reminder.

Not for me, but I don't mind. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (15.2°C) openSUSE mailing list admin -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: heroes+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: heroes+owner@opensuse.org
