Hi! I found about 760G worth of log file backups from back when Pontifex still connected to backup.i.o.o. I assume you don't need it, but since it's a lot of data I rather ask - can I delete it? :-) Cheers, Georg
Hi Georg, I don't even know who should decide if we need them or what is retention policy. I guess they can be useful in some theoretical scenarios, so better leave them if possible. If disk space becomes critical - then we probably can try to determine all involved parties and inform that deleting is scheduled, something like that. Regards, Andrii Nikitin

Hi Andrii, thanks for getting back. I want to do more back ups of real infra.opensuse.org hosts and hence want to free space taken by no-longer-i.o.o hosts. If this data is really deemed valuable, I suggest your team either provides the current retention period of pontifex2:/var/log (assuming you are taking backups) and we apply the same to this historic data, or we move the data to a place in OBS infrastructure. I prefer proactively solving problems rather than waiting until they become critical. Best, Georg

Summarizing the discussion on Slack (thanks, Andrii, for initiating it) - the log directories "download.opensuse.org" and "ipv6.download.opensuse.org" contain historic data for metrics.opensuse.org and should be kept. I preserved those under /backup/pontifex/archive/ and removed the other, irrelevant, data. Cheers, Georg
