[heroes] Reminder: Heroes meeting on tuesday
Hello, the next heroes meeting will be on tuesday (2019-12-03) at 19:00 UTC / 20:00 CET in the #opensuse-admin IRC channel. The usual topics are already listed on https://progress.opensuse.org/issues/59121 Feel free to add topics you want to discuss ;-) We discussed the IRC meeting structure during our meeting in Nuremberg, and will try a slightly changed meeting structure. The status reports should really be a quick round of status reports. Ideally you should have your status report somewhat prepared - pasting a few lines (instead of typing them) can speed up the meeting a lot ;-) Of course we can and will still discuss things, but - after all status reports are done. Regards, Christian Boltz --

I'll add a brief update here - I will not be able to attend tomorrow, or only very late. The only thing I've been pursuing is getting a dump of the forums database. I think Gerald must have pushed some buttons - only just this afternoon I have been told a dump is available, just waiting for a secure way to transfer it. Unlike the tarball with the website which was sent by email :-) I don't know how we can best facilitate a secure transfer? rsync to one of my own machines or to somewhere at o.o ? I'll get something set up asap, forums2.some.where, for the forums admin guys to have a look at and see if they are happy. Then I'll get a VM and get it running at o.o. I have already advised the MF-IT guys that I'll need a 2nd dump when I am ready to migrate. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (2.6°C) Member, openSUSE Heroes -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: heroes+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: heroes+owner@opensuse.org

One more thing - can someone please take a look at widehat and the rsync config? -- Per Jessen, Zürich (2.1°C) Member, openSUSE Heroes -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: heroes+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: heroes+owner@opensuse.org

Did this tarball also include files the users uploaded (screenshots, cat photos, avatars, ...)? (Just asking - I don't know if these uploads are stored as files or as binary blob in the database.)

We probably don't have a perfect solution, but good workarounds ;-) I'd say the easiest way is if the admin in provo uploads it on a https server with a .htaccess / .htpasswd, or with an unguessable URL which basically is the password.

That release went far too smooth after we had everything together ;-) That on it's own should have set off the alarm bells :-) [> Andreas Jaeger and David Bolt in opensuse-factory]

I have not yet looked at it - I expect all the user uploads to be in the database. The tarball might hold all of our customisations. I am in no way familiar with vbulletin.

I have prepared a place for Jared to upload the package to - upload.jessen.ch - with scp, and I have sent him userid und password. Nothing much has happened yet :-( -- Per Jessen, Zürich (-1.1°C) Member, openSUSE Heroes -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: heroes+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: heroes+owner@opensuse.org
