[heroes] old files kept in pontifex2:/srv/ftp/pub/opensuse/distribution/leap/15.2/repo/oss/
Hello opensuse-heroes, can you please havea look at following issue? https://progress.opensuse.org/issues/62546 I personally don't have yet access to pontifex2 so I cant't really look at it. Ticket is essentially a cleanup request on pontifex2:/srv/ftp/pub/opensuse/distribution/leap/15.2/repo/oss/ Where we seem to keep significantly more files than 15.1 (keeping original requestor in cc). Thank you very much in advance -- Best regards Luboš Kocman Release Manager openSUSE Leap SUSE Software Solutions Germany GmbH Maxfeldstr. 5 90409 Nuremberg Germany (HRB 36809, AG Nürnberg) Managing Director: Felix Imendörffer

Yeah, we have another ticket on the same - https://progress.opensuse.org/issues/62255 I'm not sure it is up to the download.o.o to do any cleanup - I am not aware of any script that fiddles with that. Maybe it is an rsync issue on the sending side? -- Per Jessen, Zürich (6.7°C) Member, openSUSE Heroes -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: heroes+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: heroes+owner@opensuse.org
Hi JFYI: this should be fixed now. The cron job was using the wrong (none) config file - which resulted in an (unnoticed) exit 1. During the next day(s), the problem should now fix itself. I don't know who is currently in charge to write the documentation about all the scripts and setups on pontifex2 - but it looks to me like this guy should start writing down something (either in the pillar-id files or in the progress wiki, I don't care)... ;-) Regards, Lars -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: heroes+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: heroes+owner@opensuse.org

Lars, for my education, which cron job is this?

Yeah, I want to have a word with that guy too. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (3.8°C) Member, openSUSE Heroes -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: heroes+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: heroes+owner@opensuse.org

Puh! From my memory: in /etc/cron.d/mirrorstuff you should find some jobs with owner 'mirror'. This user has some scripts in /home/mirror/bin/ - and there is a script that tries to keep the latest 3 days of packages for a given distro. To me it looked like in former times there was a symlink to the latest config (which has the number in the name, like config15.1.conf), but this symlink seems to got lost - so the script exited all times once openSUSE switched to 15.2 development. Now the script is executed with the real config (something with 15.2) as option. I'm sorry that I have no more info at the moment: all the (overlay) bind mounts, hundreds of rsync modules (at least it feels like hundreds ;-), scripts all over the place triggered by cron or other scripts or service files or... FYI: I'm still working on: * bringing all machines into a maintained state * update services, where possible * helping others with their ideas (at least partly by providing machines) * separate openSUSE (DNS: nearly done, Mail: next) Once the tasks above are done (hopefully around April), I can help you with cleaning up the download infrastructure stuff - if this is wanted. With kind regards, Lars -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: heroes+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: heroes+owner@opensuse.org

Thanks, I thought I had gone over everything in mirrorstuff, obviously I missed something.

Yeah ... welcome to pontifex. Wrt rsync modules, I am working on those.

I'll be happy to help with mail, but I need to finish the forums migration and my mirror cleanup.
