We tried to reach out to as many people as possible - and in the end decided that the best way would be to use https://news.opensuse.org in addition to catch the ones we forgot or could not reach directly. Our assumption was that news.o.o would be the place where we can reach out to everyone interested in openSUSE. If that's not the case, I would like to know how we can improve here.
So here is my question: How - beside any personal contact - do you get news around openSUSE?
Generally via the mailing lists - I virtually never go to visit news.o.o :-)
I think it would have been nice to announce the closing of connect.o.o to e.g. project.lists ? maybe also announcement.lists.
Yeah i'd second the send it to the project list as well even if its as simple as "Connect is closing down, read more at <News Link>", I think we reasonably expect people interested in project wide news to read one or the other but not both.
Yes, that would have been appropriate. It was there where I saw the need for volunteers for connect and where I volunteered, somewhere in Feb 2019. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from oS Leap 15.2 x86_64 (Minas Tirith))
