Hey HAMs I just won a SuSE Linux Enterprise Desktop (SLED) laptop at a local SuSE Forum. I own a Kenwood D700 with a serial input that will do APRS. My question is there a APRS type of program for linux? I just check and there is no compiler so it may go to 10.1. -- 73 de Donn Washburn 307 Savoy Street Email: " n5xwb@hal-pc.org " Sugar Land, TX 77478 LL# 1.281.242.3256 Ham Callsign N5XWB HAMs : " n5xwb@arrl.net " VoIP via Gizmo: bmw_87kbike / via Skype: n5xwbg BMW MOA #: 4146 - Ambassador " http://counter.li.org " #279316

Yea, it's called "Xastir". http://www.xastir.org -- Curt, WE7U. archer at eskimo dot com http://www.eskimo.com/~archer Lotto: A tax on people who are bad at math. - unknown Windows: Microsoft's tax on computer illiterates. - WE7U. The world DOES revolve around me: I picked the coordinate system!"
You could try the packages on my ftp site. Just set up an installation source pointing to http://ftp.w1nr.net/suse-ham/dg7gt.osth.de/suse-10.1-ham-extended/ RPM's for xastir and aprsd are in there. But, I would go with 10.1 since the kernel that ships with SLED probably does not have AX.25 built in as a module.
