I've added a few lines to the Product Highlights for 11.3 about Moblin, please review and correct: http://wiki.opensuse.org/Product_highlights#Further_desktop_changes Unfortunately if I run zypper in -t pattern Moblin, it will not install the moblin branding packages and I only get a complete white screen when logging as user. What needs to be done to get the moblin UI experience? For 11.3, I don't think we will have it as a bunch of us are off working on MeeGo which does not work on top of openSUSE at the moment :( sorry, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-goblin+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-goblin+help@opensuse.org

I am all but there with getting MeeGo on openSUSE. I have only one package to fix (moblin-panel-web), and configure Evolution to use the Express mode. Moblin is currently in 11.3 but is missing the web panel. Also it is now deprecated by MeeGo. I was hoping to be able to spend this week on getting an image built, but the failing package has been a pain. I am hoping to have an image built within 2 weeks of GM release. Ideally using the OBS but at the very least using Studio. Ah, sweet, I didn't realize this at all, that is good news. If you need anyone to help testing, I'd be glad to do so. thanks, greg k-h -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-goblin+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-goblin+help@opensuse.org

Hmm - just server downtime. Whats the prj you're trying to build this package ? Best, Jan-Simon -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-goblin+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-goblin+help@opensuse.org

So, what are your goals? * Create an 11.3 MeeGo image? * Integrate the MeeGo UI into openSUSE:Factory? For factory, let's do it early - and remove Moblin - so that the infrastructure is there, e.g. patterns. Would be cool to have it for the first milestone, Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, Program Manager openSUSE, aj@{novell.com,opensuse.org} Twitter: jaegerandi | Identica: jaegerandi SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126

That is exactly my intentions. One thing that needs to happen before any submission to Factory is a major housekeeping operation to clean up the spec files to openSUSE's standard. I have managed to get by so far by just importing MeeGo's generated mess just to get things going quickly. As the majority of packages have changed, most spec files will need to be looked at.

As soon as I have an image to use, then I will start on the pattern and submissions to Factory. Regards, Andy -- Andrew Wafaa IRC: FunkyPenguin. GPG: 0x3A36312F openSUSE: Get It, Discover It, Create It at http://www.opensuse.org

There are packages in the distro - but since nobody can tell me how to get it working, I guess it's better to not speak about them...
