[opensuse-gnome] Radeon R9 270
I'm trying to get the proprietary drivers working for a Radeon R9 270 in openSUSE 13.2 GNOME. Both GNOME and KDE perform poorly w/the OS drivers, and the proprietary drivers worked in oS 13.1. KDM/KDE do well with these drivers, but GDM and GNOME don't even function, both giving the dubious "Oh no" dialog at the start. I'd like to get back into GNOME; KDE is kind of a strain on the eyes for a GNOME user like myself. I'm not sure where to trace this, or even what to look for. I have the official gnome-shell, 3.14.3. Is this GPU just not supported anymore? Grateful for any tips. A fairly large number of ATI/AMD chipsets use the FOSS driver and not the proprietary one. The latter will break desktops. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+owner@opensuse.org
