[opensuse-gnome] file-roller default ...
Hi guys, Is it just me, or should file-roller default to "View as a folder" for all non-trivial archives (say those containing files in more than one directory) :-) [ or failing that always just default to "View as a folder" ? ] Regards, Michael. -- michael.meeks@novell.com <><, Pseudo Engineer, itinerant idiot -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org

It should most definitely always default to "View as Folder" IMHO. That's +1 from me. Regards, Ivan. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org

Sorry, I somehow miss this mail before. But it should be fixed in 11.0: vuntz@lyon ~/>rpm -q --changelog gconf2-branding-openSUSE [...] * Tue Apr 29 2008 vuntz@suse.de - Don't set the following settings (consensus reached on mailing list): + /apps/file-roller/listing/list_mode to "all_files" [...] Do you still see this behavior as default? Interesting - perhaps my experience just comes from upgrading from SLED10 and retaining ~/.gconf. Though I would never knowingly have set this option in the past.

Binning ~/.gconf/apps/file-roller - and I see the new default just fine; perhaps if/as/when we write a SLED10 upgrade / migration script - tweaking this setting should be in it ;-) I assume previously file-roller un-conditionally saved the setting & clobbered the default.
