[opensuse-gnome] gaim-unstable
I'd like to propose gaim-unstable to be moved from GNOME:Community to GNOME:[UN]STABLE/FACTORY - it's the latest 2.0 beta. Unfortunately at the moment, none of the external gaim plugins we package (bs/galago/otr) build with the 2.0 betas[1] at the moment. Any thoughts? [1] The otr site has windows builds that do but only provide a patch for building with beta2 but at least it might be merged into the next version -- James Ogley james@usr-local-bin.org http://usr-local-bin.org GNOME for openSUSE: http://software.opensuse.org/download/GNOME:/ Help end poverty: http://oxfam.org.uk/in -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org

The other issue here is that we have a large patch to remove most of the blocking I/O silliness from gaim so online/offline works properly. I don't think this patch easily applies to 2.0. -JP -- JP Rosevear <jpr@novell.com> Novell, Inc. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org

If that's gaim-1.5.0-dbus-onoffline.patch then don't worry, 2.0 has DBus/NetworkManager support built in and it seems to work very well -- James Ogley james@usr-local-bin.org http://usr-local-bin.org GNOME for openSUSE: http://software.opensuse.org/download/GNOME:/ Help end poverty: http://oxfam.org.uk/in -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org

Although having said that, one thing to note is that there's no gnome-keyring support at the moment. There was some discussion on the gaim-devel list about this in December[1] where it seems that it was decided that support for this should be added as a plugin so as not to break password storing when not in GNOME. Thing is, I tried the patch referred to in the discussion (from OpenSolaris) and it didn't seem to actually do anything. The good news is the keyring patch is probably simpler. -JP -- JP Rosevear <jpr@novell.com> Novell, Inc. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org

No, it's these: gaim-1.5.0-nonblock-aim.patch gaim-1.5.0-nonblock-common.patch gaim-1.5.0-nonblock-gwim.patch No idea if they'll still be necessary in gaim 2.0. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org
gaim-1.5.0-nonblock-aim.patch
The oscar plugin has totally changed, the files this patches don't exist any more nor do the structs it affects - possibly obsolete
gaim-1.5.0-nonblock-common.patch gaim-1.5.0-nonblock-gwim.patch
I had to change these a bit (and common is now split into two patches - bleurgh) but they still apply and I've included them in gaim-unstable. If any of you know about gnome-keyring (cos I really don't) could you take a look at the patch? All reports on this patch from OpenSolaris suggest it works, but although it applies and builds, it doesn't seem to actually use gnome-keyring (which is sort of what I'd expect it to do)/ -- James Ogley james@usr-local-bin.org http://usr-local-bin.org GNOME for openSUSE: http://software.opensuse.org/download/GNOME:/ Help end poverty: http://oxfam.org.uk/in -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-gnome+help@opensuse.org

Darn. I was hoping they would fix the various blocking problems in 2.0.
